STOMP!!! See what all the noise is about...

STOMP is explosive, provocative, sophisticated, sexy, utterly unique and appeals to audiences of all ages. The international percussion sensation has garnered an armful of awards and rave reviews; and has appeared on numerous national television shows. The eight-member troupe uses everything but conventional percussion instruments -- matchboxes, wooden poles, brooms, garbage cans, Zippo lighters, hubcaps -- to fill the stage with magnificent rhythms. The return of the percussive hit also brings some new surprises, with some sections of the show now updated and restructured and the addition of two new full-scale routines, utilizing props like tractor tire inner tubes and paint cans.

As USA Today says, 'STOMP finds beautiful noises in the strangest places.'

The story of 'Prisoner of Second Avenue' revolves around the escalating problems of a middle-aged couple living on Second Avenue on the Upper East Side of NYC. Mel Edison, the main character, has just lost his job after many years and now has to cope with being unemployed at middle age. The action occurs during an intense summer heat wave and a prolonged garbage strike, which just exacerbates Edison's plight to no end as he and his wife Edna deal with noisy neighbors, loud sounds emanating from Manhattan streets up to their apartment and even a robbery of their apartment during broad daylight. Mel eventually suffers a nervous breakdown from the whole affair, and it is up to the loving care of his brother Harry, his sisters and Edna to bring Mel back to a firm reality. Neil Simon walks a tightrope between comedy and drama in this bittersweet release.

Benefitting Brevard County PROJECT HUNGER, this year's restaurant selections will represent their respective countries truly making this event a 'TASTE FROM AROUND THE WORLD'!!  Visitors will sample gourmet delights paired with fine wines from around the world as more than 20 local chefs represent their respective countries by presenting their ethnic foods.

The perfect day will end with a sunset concert featuring the legendary band, Three Dog Night.

The StepCrew is the new dance production featuring the world's top talents in Irish Stepdancing, Ottawa Valley Stepdancing, and Modern Tap. Created to honor and support the British Army in 1900, the tradition of esprit de corps continues! Feel your spirits soar with rousing traditional marches and folk songs of the British Empire performed by eighty-five talented musicians who have traveled the globe in support of the troops. The band is comprised of a variety of professional ensembles including a Concert Band, Marching Band, Salon Orchestra, Dance Band and Fanfare Trumpeters. One of their official duties is to play for the Mounting of the Queen's Guard at Buckingham Palace. Bring the whole family for the concert, hear the Band of the Irish Guards and see the Pipes, Drums, Highland Dancers of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders (Royal Regiment of Scotland) and experience the pomp and grandeur!

Walkers will lace up and walk on Saturday, March 27, 2010 to raise funds for research to find a cure for diabetes and its complications.  Walkers from all across Brevard County will come together for a cure at Lori Wilson Park in Cocoa Beach with the goal to raise more than $$230,000. 

            “This is a wonderful opportunity to come together as a community and raise money,” said JDRF Executive Director Martin Bernstine. “Diabetes takes a devastating toll on families.  Insulin is life support, not a cure.  We need funding for the research to find a cure.”

Registration begins at 8:00a.m.with the Walk start at Lori Wilson Park starting at 9:30a.m. Walkers are encouraged to register online at www.jdrf.org/centralflorida.

“We are appreciative of the efforts of all of our partners in the community and we are looking forward to our new relationship with Bright House Networks, the Corporate Chair Team for this year’s event,” said Bernstine.   “The enthusiastic energy and commitment enables us to continue funding the most cutting edge research to find a cure for diabetes.”

The Walk to Cure Diabetes is generously sponsored by many local companies.  Please join us on March 27 for a great day of family fun for a wonderful cause.
