Getting Married on the Space Coast…

All of our beaches on the Space Coast of Florida are free and open to the public, and there is no waiting period for non-residents to get married.

To apply for a marriage license in Brevard County, applicants must go to a Brevard County Clerk of the Circuit Court office between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays. (Non-residents may choose to apply for a marriage license by mail; click on the link below to the County Clerk’s website for the form.)

Valid photo identification, such as a driver’s license, must be presented by both applicants.

Both applicants must also provide either their Social Security, naturalization, immigration or passport numbers.

If previously married, you must know the dates when the previous marriage ended.

A marriage license application fee of $93.50 can be reduced to $61 if both parties submit a certificate of completion of an approved premarital preparation course.

If ceremony is performed at the clerk’s office, an extra $30 is charged.

Certified copies of marriage licenses are available for $2.50 each.

There usually is a three-day waiting period for Florida residents. If the bride and groom are residents of Florida and both took the premarital course and submit a certificate of completion, there is no waiting period. A hardship may be declared to avoid the waiting period.
